Terms of service

Last updated November 3, 2026. These terms are an agreement between Alderman Enterprises LLC DBA ShopCrank ("ShopCrank", "we", "us") and the business that creates a ShopCrank shop ("the shop", "you"). By creating a shop, starting a trial, or signing in, you agree to them on behalf of the shop and confirm you are authorized to do so.

The service

ShopCrank is shop management software for repair shops: dispatch, repair orders, estimates, invoices, payments, customers, inspections, texting, an AI phone assistant, payroll planning, reports, and diagnostics tools. Features by plan are described on the pricing page. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a core feature of your plan during a paid term without notice.

Accounts and staff

The shop owner controls who has access and each person's role. You are responsible for activity under your shop's accounts and for keeping sign-in email inboxes secure. Tell us at once if you believe an account has been misused.

Trial, plans and billing

• The 14-day trial does not require a card. To keep using ShopCrank after the trial, choose a paid plan.
• Plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled. Annual prepay includes the discount shown on the pricing page.
• AI phone minutes beyond your plan's monthly allowance are billed at your plan's per-minute rate. You can set a spending cap in Settings; at the cap, calls ring your shop instead.
• Prices do not include taxes, which are added where required.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
• If a payment fails, we will tell you and may suspend the shop until it is paid.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing page in Settings or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and the shop keeps access until then. Fees already paid are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund.

Your data

The shop owns its records. We use them only to provide ShopCrank, as described in our privacy policy. You can export your records at any time. After cancellation, records remain available for export for 90 days and are then deleted, except where the law requires us to keep them longer.

You are responsible for having the right to store and use the information you enter, including your customers' details, and for the accuracy of what you enter.

Texting and calls

You are the sender of the texts and calls your shop makes through ShopCrank. You must get each customer's consent before texting them, honor opt-outs, and follow the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, carrier rules, and other laws that apply. ShopCrank records STOP replies and blocks further texts to that number. Do not use ShopCrank for unsolicited marketing. Texts follow the text messaging terms, and you may not remove the opt-out instructions ShopCrank adds to a customer's first message.

AI features

AI suggestions, estimates, call summaries, and diagnostic worksheets are aids to a qualified person. They can be wrong. Check them against the vehicle manufacturer's service information before acting, and review every estimate before you send it. The AI phone assistant's default greeting tells callers they are speaking with an automated assistant; if you change the greeting, keep that disclosure.

Payroll, taxes and accounting

Payroll, withholding, sales tax and accounting figures are estimates to help you plan. They are not a filed return, tax advice, or a substitute for a payroll processor or accountant.

Diagnostics and key programming

Programming or flashing a module, and key or immobilizer work, require a signed repair order, the vehicle owner's authorization, a supported pass-thru interface, and the shop's own manufacturer and security credentials. ShopCrank does not provide immobilizer bypass, key cloning, or theft-recovery tools. You are responsible for verifying ownership and for any work performed on a vehicle.

Third-party services

Some features rely on services such as Stripe, Twilio, QuickBooks, Google, and parts and labor providers. Your use of them is also governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or actions.

Acceptable use

Do not store data you are not allowed to keep, attempt to access another shop's account, disrupt or overload the service, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend a shop that breaks these terms or puts other customers at risk, with notice where practical.

Availability

We work to keep ShopCrank available, including an offline copy of the board on your device, but maintenance, connectivity, and third-party outages can interrupt it. We do not promise uninterrupted service.

Disclaimer

Except as stated in these terms, ShopCrank is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to ShopCrank is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. These limits do not apply to amounts you owe us or to either party's fraud or willful misconduct.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify ShopCrank against third-party claims arising from your records, your texts and calls, work your shop performs on vehicles, or your breach of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post changes here and, for significant changes, tell shop owners at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use ShopCrank after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
