Text messaging terms
Last updated November 3, 2026. These terms cover text messages that auto repair shops send to their customers through ShopCrank, a service of Alderman Enterprises LLC DBA ShopCrank. Each shop is the sender of its own messages; ShopCrank provides the software and delivery.
What you will receive
If you agree to texts from a shop, it may text you about your vehicle service: appointment confirmations and reminders, estimates to review and approve, repair status and pickup notices, invoices and payment links, and replies to questions you send. Shops do not use this program for marketing or promotional messages.
How you agree
You agree by checking the unchecked text-message box on a shop's online booking form, by texting the shop's number first, or by telling shop staff in person or by phone that they may text you, which the staff records in ShopCrank before any text is sent. Agreeing is never a condition of getting service or making a purchase.
How often
Message frequency varies with your service, typically a few messages per visit.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. ShopCrank and the shop do not charge you for texts.
How to stop or get help
Reply STOP to any message to stop texts from that shop. You will get one message confirming you are unsubscribed, and no more after that. Reply START to resubscribe. Reply HELP for help, contact the shop directly, or email [email protected].
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include all major U.S. carriers.
Privacy
Your mobile number and text-message consent are used only to send the messages described here. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the service providers that deliver the messages. See the privacy policy for details.
